Feeling better now and soon will be heading off to visit some of the lovely places over here for some morning and afternoon tours at first.
Looking forwards to that indeed.
A lot of little things got underway this week past and the windows are finally being painted, the front house trims up, the verandah pillars repaired and a lot of itsy bit of odds and ends of materials have been bought to complete repairs to the rest of the house.
The pillars are finally being repaired! |
Even the pillars are being done with Imre's special goop and mesh to hold them in place... |
Coming back from my morning jog...check this out...all the birdies lined up for their morning feed of elderberries from my garden... |
Imre screwing the window trims into place for the 2 front windows... |
Looking great is it not??? Wait until it is painted in a few weeks time! Imre will start painting it on Wednesday if it is still too hot to complete the last bit of the front. I can't seem to convince him to do it in the evening! Then when this is done...this bit of front fence gets renewed...or the cement paths get put around the back of the house, this front and the long front of the house. Either one, depending on what suits him best! |
Freshly picked elderberries... |
You scrape the berries from the stems by hand...takes a few mins only... |
Berries all ready to be washed and then boiled up and made into jam and juice for winter. A high source of Vit C and a potent anti-oxidant. A teaspoon full a day will help clean out your sinuses too! |
Still too hot to apply the last few strips of mesh and goop, but we'll get it done soon... |
Another load of house exterior scrapings go into the paddock! |
These 6 mtre long bolts go right through the house are bolted both ends. Imre is embedding them into the walls so they are not seen! |
I wish we could get the last bit of the house done...It looks great. Imre just embedded the 3 long bolts here at the front too. They are used to help hold the walls in place. |
There are these massive bee things here...Huge! |
A neighbour's chicken flock! Enjoying the corn cobs tossed to them... |
The temps have dropped overall, but it is still amazingly hot outside in the sun!
It is uncanny. Inside is now a lovely constant 22 -24C Outside, on the verandah, it still hits over 30C.
I wear a short sleeved cardigan inside and when I go outside, it's still like a blast furnace and nearly get fried in the sun.
That's it for this week...not much other news. My leg is healing well, very itchy today, so that means it is healing OK.
See you next week with some more pics and hopefully, some nice interesting touristy pics,
Cheers,
Look after yourselves and take care,
Lots of love,
Mary
