Fun at The Harvest Festival...

End of harvest and everyone celebrates in style in these tiny villages

I was surprised Tiszaigar had a Festival of its own. It was held in the old Church grounds and turned out great..
It was a cloudy, rainy looking day to begin with, but by 2pm it was sunny and hot.

All good with the house repairs...today I'm just posting Festival Fotos!
No festival is complete without face painting!
The local school kids did a great job with different classes doing their different little skits...This was the 6 yr old boys doing..."What shall we do with the drunken sailor"?...and in English too!  The kid in the box (Ship)is 2 yrs old...classic!
Too funny!
Then the older kids did their folk dancing...
While the music played, everyone went to watch the kids do their skits on stage.
Filling up for lunch time. It goes until 10 pm I believe. Will walk the 3oo mtrs up at dark and watch the fireworks.
Some local costumes...
A Swiss national Costume...and the lady speaks English!
Now, this is a stew pot!
OMGoodness!
Now, that's a spoon!...More like a shovel!
500 ft for a dish of goulash...
Talent at work...

Kindy kids...all decked out and nervous, waiting their turn.
The girls rounding up a boy...some traditional song and dance...
The front of the old Church...The festival is being held to the right of the pic...
Looking pretty horrible weather by 2pm...
The kids doing another skit...and suddenly,...the weather cleared and became sunny and hot.
Grade 1 doing the ribbon dance...
That's over...thankfully, they are thinking!
Watch the steps, kids...
Then the guys came on...in traditional costume...
Nice, hey?
Some of my close neighbours...
Nice show girls...
Beer o'clock!
It took a few trys to get them all in one pic!
Hot beer on a hot day!

These guys will be on later in the arvo...looks good. Went for a walk around outside to see these guys getting ready..
Unicycles being prepared...
...and some fancy looking quads....
A hot rod here...
This thing will probably fly!
Back inside the festival area, which is divided into 2 areas. One for food and music and one for games.
She was crying because the kids all left the stage! Check out the recycled jeans...Cut off at the bottom area and a couple of frills added!
This is in the games area, being set up...
Bright colours and fun balloon shapes...
This is the games area. Amazing. I'll do an entire blog on the games. Absolutely amazing ingenuity of these Hungarians.
OK...that's it for some of the fun at the festival.

I'll post this now and post the other pics later on through the week.

Cheers and take care everyone,
Lotsa love,
Mary
