It would have been all finished if I hadn't wanted the pipes cut into the wall after everything was completed!
But, a few extra days until Imre comes back and h'll have it done in a day, so not much longer now.
Went to Debrecen with friends the other day and had a lovely day out, away from all the reno work for a change.
Living in disruption was an adventure at first, then it became a way of life after a time!
Am ready for an adventure of another kind now, so bring on the finishing line.
Debrecen...An old flour mill converted into a lovely restaurant and hotel. |
Getting the front of the 3 door shed finally finished... |
Woo-wooh, getting a real door in the tool shed ... |
My nice tidy verandah all up the creek again...Imre uses it as a workshop... |
Getting ready to cement render over the pipes... |
Ohhhh, I thought my mud brick days were over...but I forgot the shed door hole needed to be enlarged somewhat! |
Mmmmphhhh...it will all be over soon Mary! |
So I went out to mow the grass and found dog has dug up gopher nests everywhere! |
5 out of 6 of my little Xmas trees have survived this time...so far. 6 months and growing! The first lot of 6 all died on me with the first few months! |
The shower cubicle is really massive when you have a good look at it! |
Big enough to rent out as a self contained accom. for someone! Bed, bath, chair, radio, lights, fans, ozone blower, mirror and all...oh, a shower too! |
Then the cover goes around the bottom part and we are done. The water is already connected, the radio and lights etc work again, so it is very close to "fait accompli" !
Will finish this and post it on Sunday as that's when I get time to do my blog and the internet seems to work best about then too.
Next week will see amazing changes here...the 3 door/tool shed exterior will be completed, bathroom and entry will have floor coverings, the new kitchen floor where the shower and basin were, will be cemented, verandah all cleaned up, possibly floor covering in the kitchen and front rooms... plus a new dividing wall in the bathroom/entry will be up, but probably with no door for a while.
Doors are so short and wide in these older houses, it's hard to find the same type. I have a very old one I bought from a neighbour last year but it is pretty damaged right where the hinges go...which I missed when I bought a couple from him.
Maybe Imre can sand it back and cut the bad and broken bits off, making the door not so wide...they are almost a metre wide!
It is still very solid, so as a first stop, I'm hoping we can sand it back and repair it to something half decent...even temporarily, while we go in search of something more suitable if it does not work out.
Cheers all,
Hoping you are all well and enjoying the spring weather over there.
It's Autumn here and deliciously cool, with lovely sunny days...when it's not raining!
