Christmas Passed in a Blaze of Symbolic Lights of Hope...as a Glorious New Year Beckons...

The last Christmas pics of Prague...then some pictures of the lovely dump of snow at my place the night before I came home from Prague...

Prague was beautiful as usual, even if only for 3 days...then back home for a few days to oversee Imre and his work days, then off to Belgrade for 5 days to see another bunch of friends.

We did a lot of eating and managed a lovely evening of dining out and drinking too much champagne (it was real too...nearly died at the price, but it was Christmas and my birthday, so I forgave my self) at the wonderful Astoria Hotel with a dear friend then home again.

Now, I'm facing a lot of work ahead to get the place completed in the next few months before we get outside and finally, get cracking on the roof of the cottage...

Very pretty...
Petr, fixing the lighting at his other hostel in Newtown, Prague...

Another nice little group of lights...

Loving the wooly rugs on the chairs here...
Cosy restaurant and coffee shops...
Now, that is a Transformer!!!
I wonder who this is???
I don't know who this one is though...
Am heading off to home...
That is one big bear...
The old gun powder tower on the way to the bus pick up point to Budapest...

Everyone going home...it is almost midnight...
Goodbye Prague for 2018...
Arriving at the bus station in Budapest 6am after an over-nighter from Prague at 11.50pm...
Catching my 7.30 am train from Budapest to Tiszafured...It has already had a snowy trip by the looks of things...
From the train windows...
Looks like there was a massive snow dump last night...

The paddocks were beautiful...

My place after the big dump...just for me!
Just Purrrrfeeecccct...
There is a  footpath under there somewhere...
Hehehehe...all mine!!!
My real fairy tale...
Isn't it beautiful???

From the other side of the fence...Breathtaking...
Too amazing for words...
Imre making a track to the woodshed...
Next day...it is still there, but beginning to melt as the temperature is around 7C...

Over here it is your responsibility to keep your part of the footpaths clear of snow...

My poor little trees...
You can see the mole holes already coming to the surface on the left middle...
Jogging time ahead here...it is already 8am!!!
More mole holes being dug...
I think the end of the shed needs painting!!! It is looking neat and smart though...
Nice day ahead...
Just too beautiful for words...Melting fast today...
A new day dawning...
Christmas upon us...
Time to get the front room emptied for the new floor going down on 7th Jan...This end room is a new store room for a week or so!
Almost empty and ready for the new floor...
OOops, a few more cupboards left to move...
Just dumping things anywhere for now!
Cough, cough...Ummm, kitchen somewhere under here...
Aaha...found my bed on the right, for a week or 3...
Tidied up a bit and will cover that lounge with a brighter coloured fabric one day.
Imre cutting out the old cemented in skirting boards in prep for the new floor.
It as jolly tough wood embedded into the concrete...took all day to chisel it out too...
Almost done...
Ran up to the shop and cat follows me like a dog...too funny.
A typical snow scene from a post card...

Oh, it was so beautiful...
Cat, has adopted me...and half the village...won't look at the camera!!!

Cat not looking at the camera!
Still not looking at the camera!

A lot of snow...

At the end of another warm day...the lovely snow is beginning to melt...
Imre has dug out all of the old skirting board, then filled all the holes with cement...

Now for the last bit...
This cupboard has been restored by some volunteers and myself...

So has this one - we did a pretty good job, I think...
Traveled into Tiszafured and this big tree is covered in permafrost...Magical.
WOW!!!
Going home in the bus...snow melting fast today...

1pm and the sun is "bright"...
Lovely...

A funny sunny day...

Melting...Awwhhhh...
Off on another mini-adventure...A happy camper, me!
My fave eating place in Budapest...right at/in the railway station...
OK...that was the week from here...and the last of the Prague pictures...

Next week will be Belgrade pics time and then we are caught up and it will be back to renovating for a while!!!

So, cheers for now...
See you all next week,
Be healthy and happy...
Love to all,
Mary...
