Just read the captions...
It was fun to visit for sure.
| Party in progress... |
| This area was really lovely... |
| Such big chunky food. Have decided I'm not a fan of this type of food. Prefer Mediterranean... |
| Ham hocks by the barrel full... |
| Soup in a cob of bread...Prague does it best! |
| The stalls all use neatly sawn wood to fill in gaps and use for decoration...Great atmosphere huh? |
| Some of the drinks on offer...800ft is about $4, so these things here in Budapest are very pricey. |
| More... |
| More...I forgot to get a drink in Budapest as I was a bit overwhelmed at so much stuff, not food so much, but nic-naks. |
| Back to the food. Shame I couldn't post the smells for you! |
| It's crazy... |
| People sitting and standing outside in the zero temperature, eating and drinking... |
| Overload... |
| Had enough, so am heading back to the metro...I hope, to catch my train to Belgrade at 10.40pm tonight, Wednesday 16 Dec |
| Crowds everywhere... |
| More streets, more lights... |
| All the stalls have to present only locally and hand made things for sale. |
| And on it goes... |
| Some sort of liqueur dispenser I think... |
| Leaving my dress, umbrella, hand bags and shoe behind now... |
| Hoping this leads back to the Metro station underground... |
| Ooops...wrong turn...Back for a final glance at my shoes... |
| Just so pretty... |
| Ooops...sideways... |
| Bye... |
| Bye, bye... |
| Found it OK...now up we go to grab a train for 2 stops on the red line and hopefully will emerge at Kelleti international train station in 2 shakes. |
| Yup, all is good...Going up again now. |
| Inside the main Budapest train station entry hall. |
| It's very pretty... From the street outside entrance |
| And very tall! |
| Entrance from the train platforms... |
| Love these buildings...Caught the train on time and had a great 8 hr trip to Belgrade, arriving at 6.30am. |
| Our room at Home sweet Home Hostel in Belgrade. Under $10 each a night. As soon as I hit the ground, I raced up to my fave cafes, had a look around and raced back, had a snooze and Jelena came at 10am and we went out for the entire day, arriving back at the hostel after 11pm. |
| The sun came out on Thursday, so it was very nice indeed. |
OK...so am now in Belgrade. Will do the next part of the blog tomorrow and you can continue my trip with me...
