Reviewing the past week. Wow a lot of things happen in a week!
It rained, snowed a smidgin', blew a gale, was sunny, below freezing and then sat around a delicious 10 C ish for a few days.
Had the middle room (the bathroom and bedroom to be) floors finally finished during this time, did some garden edgings, pulled up the herb garden, had my big load of wood chopped up, visited a friend for afternoon tea, moved the bed and lounge into the "new"room and sat and wondered where the time went!
Will post the pics here...

Sunlight was glistening thru' these crystal vases this morning, but it didn't come out as pretty as it was in real life! |
My first snow in my own house! ...sort of! |
We are doing a happy jar and every day write something on a scrap of paper and put it in a jar, to open in a year! |
The sun shines in this room all day... |
An end on shot...Have to bring in the rest of the tools from the new room behind the wall hanging, when the boys do the end room this coming week. |
I love these flowers. Am going to feature them somewhere next year. |
Setting out the gardens for next year now while it's lovely weather. Did the old brick edging, trying to keep the old feel alive. |
Now doing the other side of the garden entry path to the house. You can just see the daffodils getting an early start for next Feb.March... |
Up the other end of town at Sabina's place for afternoon tea... |
A nice idea...TISZAIGAR... |
The storks end up everywhere here! |
Sabina and her cakes! |
A couple of girls came 900klms from Germany to collect a couple of dogs and take them back to another refuge in Germany. Sabina runs a dog refuge here. |
This cake was a cheese cake sort of, I think, a sponge with a lemon type cheese on top. |
3 little German girls! |
I love this room of Sabna's and want a room like it, facing the winter sun all day. It's just coming up to 4pm outside, it's almost dark! I have a stack of big windows up at her place and can have these when she replaces them soon. Her husband is coming for 2 weeks over Xmas, so maybe then. |
A brighly coloured Russel Hobs coffee pot...Very heavy and does not pour without dribbling everywhere. a not to buy one item! |
Headed home at 4.30pm and saw the church/village centre lights all lit up! |
Nice. They look heaps better than this in real life! |
Just so surprised to see so many here. |
Ferenc and Alex, cutting up the logs. |
And while they did that, I tore up the herb garden. It had too many sectors in it (8), so am making less (6), to give more planting room as the brick section separations took up too much space. |
A bit of a mess, but will all come together this week OK Then I'll re-pave and tidy up the path along the wall where the yellow bucket is and it will look awesome and authentically old. |
Quite excited really, as you should have seen this a year or so ago! Well, you couldn't see it actually, as the grass was way over 4 ft high, even in here! |
Wood all tucked away in the shed. I have to fix that barrel that's in pieces there at the back too and make a table or seating out of it. Was going to make a hot tub out of it, but it's easier to buy a spa! |
