Can you believe where this year went?
Just had the last grass cut to-day for this season, before everything stops growing here over winter.
Also accidentally made a nice garden edging around the area where I want to plant a big Xmas tree later on. It is made out of some of the rubble I was going to get a big dumper truck to come and collect after winter, so am chuffed that it happened so quickly, with no planning at all.
Only took 2 hours and a few more to try and level out a bazillion bumps in the land around, from all the blessed gopher hole diggings!
Alex mowing around the bountiful plum trees. |
Florie, my odd job boy, went to Germany with a friend's husband, for a month, so 2 of his brothers came in to-day for an hour and mowed the nature strip and the bottom 1/4 acre of the block and I did the rest.
It was good to get back behind the mower again.
I enjoy mowing as it's nice watching the grass become tidy and look nice as you mow along.
Will tidy up the mess I made of the yard creating the awesome garden edging the last 2 days and will take a pic for you.
That bush in the middle will come out later when the big Xmas/conifer tree is planted. |
Here's hoping all goes well next week when I go to Szolnok to get my health insurance, then straight up to the visa office, receipt in hand! Sabina went to Szolnok to-day, Monday, to import her new car from Germany and wow, what a job! I went with her and the Hungarian parents of Florie.
Back and forth to Transport place, the Roadworthy place, Customs clearance and Stamp duty places, the Post Office which seems to collect any Govt monies over here, the bank to pay some fee and finally, back to the transport place, collect all the growing pile of "papier" and some new number plates and home we came!
Arriving at the Roadworthy certification place...about 1pm...ish |
Mission accomplished at 4.30pm! |
Ferenc applying the new set of Hungarian plates... |
4.45 pm, back at the roadworthy place to collect the car...Sun has set. |
Homeward bound...Taken going across a bridge, from a speeding car. Not too bad. Home at 6.30 pm. |
Who knows?
Catch you in a few days...
Cheers
xx
I can feel the chill approaching as the days close in and the frost lays down on the grass!
ReplyDeleteHope you get all you want done while the weather permits. It's a credit to you Mary, you are so brave. Stay well...your dream has become an adventure for many of us watching your progress thousands of miles away! xxoo
Thanks Sis...This next week will see things move along a bit. Once the bathroom floor is done, all will be good. I can then get things into the right rooms and get everything out of this one room which has served for 18months, on and off, as kitchen, dining, lounge, bedroom ! It's a bit cramped to say the least.xxx
