Hot...Hotter...Hottest!

Weeks come and weeks go...no sign of clouds or rain.
Wow, amazing weather.

My workaway volunteer left for Thailand on Thursday but we got a lot of little, tough jobs done while he was here, so am very thankful for him being here for just 8 days. Plus we had a great day out last week, touring the area, so all up, it was a nice break with him here.

Dujon painting the kitchen window frames...
Quite surprised that it came out as it was pretty dark! We had to wait until it was cooler...
The new fly screen door. really pleased with this as now I can have cool air coming in at night.
Tidy yard...at this end anyways!
The big deck tiered garden...left side done!
The new workarea...It took a ot of shoveling and shifting to get all the bricks, tiles, sand, etc into one area...at long last. The old 3 pig sized door shed now has 2 human sized doors! The bits sticking out on the end of the shed is where the new big room will join on...one day! You can see the car in its little lean too.
The guys making the lean to last week...
Almost done....Will nail some tarpaulins on the roof later on to fall down the sides for winter for a bit more protection.
Doing the cement path along the front of the tool shed...plus the doors have been sanded and I painted them...white, of course!
Thank goodness for a cloudy day 3 weeks ago...and some rain!
Just pulled out all the original old broken bricks and am putting in a full cement water barrier along the front...
Imre got a move on quickly with this....
Now onto getting the temporary roof off the cottage...
Getting ready to build the inside bathroom wall...
Yeah, well, this is the bathroom!
Chopping out the old mud bricks and securing the corners...
A few of these pics are out of order, but it is moving along.
More bricks, cement and sand delivered...
All coming off...
Cleaning off the big deck and can't find a place to dump the weeds now! hahaha...1/2 an acre of land and no room...hahaha!
Old tarps gone...
Roof beams and sheeting gone, now to get the bricks out and clean it up and put in the new bathroom wall!
Just cemented all around the back of the house too...and had to dig under the footpath to connect the down pipes!
Not much space to get under the gutter...but we made it.
A neighbour taking a barrow load of fallen apples to make palinka ...
So another garden seat against the woodshed wall on the big deck...a great place to toss all the rubble...Have hibiscus hedge planted along the back of the deck now.
At long last, the bathroom wall is completed...now for the mez flooring to go on...
We lowered the mower height from #5 to #3 and the poor lawns have got burnt off at the roots almost.  Probably a bit too low in hindsight, but it looks great, nice and clean anyways...even though it is a nice brown colour now!

Today Imre hung the new gauze door we made from a wreck I bought, adjusted the top on the vanity, put new handles and key locks on a couple of doors and filled in some pot holes in the new door as the old handle was on the opposite side of the door. It looks amazing.

Dirk came and started cleaning the moss from the summer kitchen roof tiles before they get put back on ...the renamed building which is to be known as the honeymoon cottage.

It's far too hot and too glary in the sun for the guys to work on the Cottage roof at the moment, so I'm finding other jobs for them to do until it clouds over or cools down a bit.

Everything is sort of up to date now, so if it is cooler on Monday, the little roof of the woodshed will be taken off and put back on in one day. The roof tiles leak as they are not overlapped enough and the rain blows back in under the tiles and the wood gets wet, very wet.

Then, when the guys do that on Monday they should be familiar with it enough to do the big one next...so here's hoping for overcast weather for the next 2-3 weeks!

Then in the meantime I'll get back outside again and complete the 2 big brick/rubble seats and then the steps onto the big deck.

This big pile of rubble, became...
...this retaining path wall at the big deck...or it will be when it's completed!
Painted the arch a couple of times and put it here to see how it looks...so it is still there!
Moving the old dunny...digging a new pit/hole for it!
Edges all completed around the house now...The house isn't blue...just the sky reflected in all the bright white! The arch on its side back there being painted...In the right foreground are my wonderful rogue tomatoes!
One of the guys had a birthday...51yrs old...so I made a berry cake with a rocket candle on it!
OK...that's it for this time...Didn't get to the water pics as promised. Next time hopefully!

Cheers,
M
