Well, after 2 months of no real munka men...(workers), I have found an amazing worker man !
This weekend he got the kitchen cleaned out and knocked out one of the big fireplaces and put in a bathroom window.
Tomorrow he fixes the top of the chimney, fixes some broken tiles up on the roof, cements the area under the old fireplace area and bricks up the wall to put in some lintels under the fireplace header area we are going to chop out on the morrow.
Then that first chimney gets blocked off and lined with melamine board...then the shower tower gets put in that place with lots of plumbing and so on...then the toilet goes in, then the new vanity.
I have to go to Debrecen to find the floor parquetry wood tiles to go down throughout the place as they don't sell them in Tiszafured anymore, so that's a bit of a nuisance.
Apart from that when the new guy turned up, so did my longer term worker guys.
That was a bit of an embarrassing moment as they have been working away for 2 months and I had to get this work underway so I can finish a few rooms at last, so I found a new guy and got on with it.
Everything worked out OK and the paddock is full again of mud bricks and rubble.
Only have to dig the septic pipes in from the back of the house and get the pipes up and into the new bathroom and we are in biz. We had already run the hot and cold water and wash waste water pipes before when we pulled up the floor and laid the concrete a few months ago, so most of the hard work is done.

It looks like the storks nest has legs! Sunset again... |
That's about it for the past week.
 |
Out it all comes...One bathroom coming up! |
 |
Will the shower tower fit here instead? |
 |
Off with the doors first. Will use them for a pantry... |
 |
My nice clean yard, all messed up again... |
 |
Drains and septic trenches... |
 |
Out comes the old stove/bread oven... |
 |
Setting out the window...a 2 foot thick mud brick wall... |
 |
All done...A cement floor has to go in there now... |
 |
All nice and ready for the next steps... |
 |
Daylight appears... |
 |
Almost done... |
 |
Yikes, the window seems a bit smaller than I was hoping for...Never mind. |
That's it for now.
Imre is coming in the morning to finish off the fireplace area, tidy up around the window and climb up on the roof to fix the broken tiles and fix the top of the chimney.
Yeahy, finally a worker who thinks ahead as I was just wondering how to get the chimney top finished off properly. I never looked up there before until I took a pic of the stork...but, it's all sorted out now.
See you next week with lots of pics...
Cheers,
Lots of love,
M
